Courtroom of Heaven: Silencing the Accuser

John 8:1-11

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now Salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God Day and night, has been cast down.

1. Satan has been Cast Down

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now Salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

Luke 10:17-19 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. And He said to them, I saw Satan fall like lighting from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

2. He Ask Permission

Luke 22:31 Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

3. Satan Exposes Weakness

John 8:3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they set her in the midst.

Isiaih 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the Lord. And their righteousness is from Me.

4. Satan Uses God’s Standard

John 8:5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned.

Matthew 5:25 Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him. Lest your adversary deliver you to the judge

5. Accusation is to Kill. Steal and Destroy

John 8:5 She should be stoned

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

6. The Purpose of Testing is to find grounds to accuse

John 8:6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him.

7. Know Who the Accuser is

John 8:10-11 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you? She said, no one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.

Romans 8:33-34 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who dies, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who makes intercession for us.

8. Satan’s Power will Be Broken

John 8:9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest, even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
